There are many special needs cats and kittens in need of loving homes. Some of these cats may be blind, missing limbs, have diabetes or have other challenges which make it unlikely that they would survive an outdoor life. When our team comes across a special needs cat, there are a number of things that happen. First of all, we make sure that any immediate medical needs are taken care of. Furthermore, we work with local rescue groups to find the cat a place on an adoption floor so they can find a forever home. We also help to promote the cat through videos, social media and word of mouth. Likewise, we raise awareness through community outreach of the many rewards of adopting a special needs cat.
Owners of special needs cats sometimes find that they can no longer afford the care that some of these cats require. Because we always want to keep a cat in it’s loving home, we offer financial assistance to income qualified owners who have adopted cats through our program, to help them care for their cats and keep them in their home. We also offer advice, support and encouragement to all owners of special needs cats. As a result, we find that more and more special cats are finding homes and staying there forever.
